The Wise Men Visits Jesus
Here is the first time after Jesus came to earth that people of another nation and religion recognized His greatness and came to worship Him. The wise were the first of a great multitude to come. And i think there's much more wisdom in these wise men knowing that Christ is Lord and leaving their towns to find Him so that they can worship Him. What we know is that they were truly wise as they were wise enough to seek Jesus. They were wise enough to seek information. They were wise enough to worship Jesus when they found Him.
Christ's Gospel is for all men. He is the Saviour of all who trust in Him, regardless of nationality and background. Notice the Wise men were not from Jerusalem and may have not been Jews.
The wise men had to go to Jerusalem to seek information on where to find the Messiah. The religious leaders and scholars of Jerusalem knew that the Messiah would come and knew the place of His birth. But they made no effort, it seems, to find Him or to honor and worship Him. It is not what men know which makes them acceptable to God. The state of their hearts with their motives and desires is all-important.
You may know the Word of God but the state of your heart determines whether you would allow it change your life or not.
According to Matthew 2:11, when the wise men found the house where Jesus was, they bowed down and worshipped Him, Jesus the King, the young child, not His mother. The fact that God brought these men to worship Christ, and recorded it for our instruction in His Word, tells us that Christ is God – only God is worthy of worship (see Matt 4:10). And God often commanded that men should worship no one but Himself. So Jesus is God too.
Should we visit Jesus like the wise men?
Our King Jesus, is no longer a young child but a resurrected savior who had gone through this world and fulfilled his purpose of saving mankind from their sins by dying on the cross for them and resurrecting on the third day. We should visit Him Yes. Because if we do not seek Him, we may not find Him. And finding Jesus means finding Salvation, finding freedom. He alone is our Savior. And How do we love a good life without a savior in this chaotic world?
So Yes, we should visit Jesus too. Every day Every moment.
How do we visit Jesus?
Jesus is God and one of the attribute of God is that He is omnipresent. He lives presently with everyone wherever we are at. Meaning, Jesus can be reached right where you are at. We just need to believe that He is God and when we speak to Him, He hears us. So to visit Jesus today is to talk to Him in prayer and seek Him in His Words. The Word of God is God too. (John 1:1)
