Today's Insights

Matthew 4

Jesus had to go through a period of testing before His ministry could fully begin. Even Though He was the beloved son of God, there was still need for him to encounter Satan and defeat him. We. Will. Encounter Satan one way or the other, we call it temptation. But can we be overcomers? Can we withstand and defeat satan?

Jesus had a direct encounter with him. We might not . It might be a life threatening and compromising hardship for us. It might be a bad day or a tough decision.

Jesus defeated Satan with the Word Of God. He could have used his own Words because he was the beloved son of God. He Could have commanded the devil to get away from temptation number one but he didn't. He wanted the template for righteousness to be complete. His Life is a template for us on how to live through life. Jesus used the word of God three consecutive times.

Believers, This Word is our sword. Unbelievers, The Word became flesh to die so that you can be saved from the bondage of sin.

The word of God daily strengthens our faith and prepares our heart for trial days and reading through the passage, I could feel the confidence in Christ's words as he gave Satan the replies he deserved. Knowledge is light. This same Jesus is one who at a very young age would linger in the temple to Learn the Word while his parents went on worrying that he was lost.

If there's any reason why we should give that idle book In our church bag a little read, it is that we may be strengthened against the days of trials. Confidence is what you have when you know what you are standing for and what you stand to loose if you compromise. We don't get to know all that if we don't study the word of God.

Genesis 6

>> Noah was a just and perfect man. Amidst a generation that bluntly displeased God. I kind of envy the way His lifestyle called God's attention from the bad side of his creations. God was Sad and regretful about creating man in the first place. Noah's walk with God took God's attention away from all that at least for a moment. God found someone he could trust with a new purpose on the earth which he created.

Can God trust you? Can He be proud of you?

>> I also learned that God will not give the right purpose to the wrong person or the wrong purpose to the right person.

In simple English, God will not give a purpose that He Knows we ain't capable of accomplishing. The fact that Noah completed the ark and all that He commanded to do kinda tells me that God already knew he was the man for the job. Our ministry, our calling, might get really hard, tough that sometimes we find ourselves so stuck. Here's what God is saying. "You can! I wouldn't have given you this mandate if I knew you wouldn't be able to handle it."

Noah was just man who had signed up for living seperated unto God and when he got tht call to build an ark. All he did to fulfill purpose in the long run was to continually OBEY the one who called.

Hm...

YEAH!

Why You Need to Keep Record of Your Salvation Experience.

There are some memories that should never be forgotten, one of which is the story of your salvation. I think our Faith hangs on it somehow. Daily reminding ourselves that once we were lost but now and we are found. Daily reminding ourselves that our human mind never would have reckoned that the freedom which we now enjoy in Christ was possible. Daily reminding ourselves how broken, sad, confused, worried and tired we were before we found Christ who gave us peace in abundantly. Yes, our faith hangs on these memories. Because there would be days when salvation become visibly "no longer relevant", then we have reasons to say, no. I still can't afford to loose it. My old life wasn't better off. But there's one more reason why we should never forget our beginning with God. Worship. How do you worship God the best way when you have chosen to forget your personal experience of Him? And By Worship here, it goes beyond the emotions we feel while singing to Him. Fine, it is...

Is the Sermon On The Mount Meant for Everyone?

Is the Sermon On The Mount Meant for Everyone? The teaching of Jesus from Matt 5 up to Matt 7:28 is called “The Sermon on the Mount” because Jesus preached it on a mountain side. This sermon shows what Jesus meant when He commanded people to repent. It reveals what entering God's kingdom means, both in one's inner experience and outward behavior. It reveals principles which operate in the kingdom, and those things which exclude people from the kingdom. The sermon begins with the word “blessed”. So we can say the sermon sets forth the blessed life – who the blessed are and how they should behave. The blessed are those in the kingdom of heaven (Matt 5:3). This sermon does not give specific instructions as to how to enter God's kingdom but shows what sort of people are in it, and what they should seek to become and do. This sermon, for the most part, is for disciples of the Lord Jesus, not for everyone. However, it seems clear from Matt 7:28 that many other people besides H...

The Story Of Salvation According To Matthew 1

The name “Jesus”, like the Hebrew name Joshua, means “the LORD (Jehovah) saves”. The word “Christ” is from the Greek language and means “anointed one”. Its meaning is the same as “Messiah” taken from the Hebrew.  The Messiah was to be anointed by God – that is, set apart and consecrated by God, to fulfill the promises of the Old Testament. He was to be prophet, king, and priest. According to the Old Testament the Messiah had to be a descendant of Abraham, the father of the Jewish nation, and of David, Israel's greatest king. To show that this was true of the Lord Jesus, Matthew gives this genealogy in Matthew 1 which shows how Jesus relates to David and Abraham by Ancestry.   Jesus as to His human nature was descended from David who lived a thousand years before Him, and from Abraham who lived nearly two thousand years before Him. The women whose name showed up on this genealogy (Rahab, Bethseba and Ruth) teaches us of God's wonderful grace and mercy towards sinful peop...
